The Hamline University student group Marketplace of Ideas invites you to the spoken presentation “Writing as Spiritual Practice” by the artist Baraka Blue. Blue is a highly acclaimed rapper and poet who has performed all over North America as well as the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. He is highly decorated within the global artist community for his original synthesis of spoken word poetry with the tradition of mystical poets from Islam such as Rumi and Hafiz. This event is free and will take place in the sanctuary. Hamline Church is excited to co-host this event with the Marketplace of Ideas, as well as the HU Departments of Religion, Philosophy, and Global Studies.
