About the Music and Arts Series
The Music and Arts Series provides exceptional and meaningful performances to enrich the lives of those in the Hamline Midway neighborhood and the greater Twin Cities community. The 2025-26 season is filled with a diverse and exciting lineup of high-quality instrumental, choral, musical theatre, R&B, bluegrass, and dance artists. Learn more about the individual performers or purchase a season pass. You can help support the series by volunteering, making a financial contribution, and most importantly: attending concerts! Stephen Hamilton, Organist

Fourteen Musical Meditations on Jesus’ Passion, based on the grippingly dramatic poetry of Paul Claudel. Marcel Dupré employs twelve melodic themes and six rhythmic motives, each symbolizing a different element of the Fourteen Stations of the Cross.
Featuring acclaimed concert organist Stephen Hamilton with movement by celebrated dancer and choreographer Penelope Free. Narrated by NPR host Michael Barone. Freewill donation.
Spring Sing - Mozart’s Missa Brevis K.192

Conductor David Kozisek leads the Hamline Church Festival Chorus with soloists, orchestra and organ in Mozart’s charming Little Credo Mass, an early compositional highlight for the young genius. The Hamline Church Festival Choir, along with other choirs and speakers from across the Twin Cities gather for a powerful interfaith music event that calls for unity and compassion. Hamline University A Cappella Choir Winter Concert

Christmas with Cantus

Cantus, the premier men’s choral ensemble in the USA, weaves together three narrated tales of Christmas with time-honored carols and new classics. On Christmas Night by Candlelight

Candlelit performance of Bob Chilcott’s enchanting On Christmas Night and other choral favorites featuring the Hamline Church Festival Chorus, soloists, and chamber orchestra. The Golden Age - From Harlem to Hollywood
Sunday, January 11 at 4:00pm
Cross Community Players celebrates the Golden Era of American music that began in the nightclubs of 1920s Harlem and became cultural sensations in the 1930s with the advent of the Hollywood musical. Singers and a jazz trio led by Walter Tambor perform generation-defining music from composers like George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and Duke Ellington. Mark Billy, Baritone with Kiegan Ryan, Cello in Recital
Saturday February 7 at 7:00pm
Choctaw baritone Mark Billy, a 2025 McKnight Fellowship winner and 2025 Native Performing Arts Fellow appears in recital with Cherokee composer and cellist Kiegan Ryan and pianist Dr. Charles Kemper. The program features a wide-array of repertoire including works by Ryan such as Kanohelvsgi Tsunilosvhi, a cycle of three Cherokee prayer songs originally sung on the Trail of Tears, and the premier of new work for cedar flute and cello. The program will also feature four Spanish love songs, alongside fresh interpretations of three operatic soprano arias. Tickets $20 adults, $5 students, or pay as able. Get your tickets here!
